LA Governor’s Office of the Workforce Commission
The Louisiana Workforce Commission, established by legislative act in 1997, serves as the human resource investment council for the State and has been designated as the State Workforce Investment Board within the meaning of the Federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998. The Commission's membership, selected by the governor, consist of 25 representatives from Louisiana business, labor, education, and public service communities.

The Louisiana Workforce Commission recognizes that work is basic to both economic prosperity and personal dignity. Thus, the Commission envisions a workforce development system that focuses on businesses that need skilled workers and on workers, current and future, who need education and training for jobs. Work has moral importance. The renewal of our state depends upon the renewal of our workforce system.

United Way of Central Louisiana
The United Way of Central Louisiana is a local partnership that links donors, helping agencies and people in need with businesses, government and other key players in central Louisiana. We build community by encouraging local citizens to set agendas for human services, and then reach them. Collaboration is essential to this process because it allows for maximum utilization of resources to bring about efficient and effective change in our community.

The United Way of Central Louisiana is a local non-profit organization that is governed by a volunteer board of directors. Currently the United Way of Central Louisiana funds 17 member organizations that serve individuals in all or part of ten central Louisiana parishes: Allen (Oakdale area), Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Evangeline (in part), Grant, LaSalle, Rapides, Vernon and Winn.
